Welcome to the Crawler Room

Classroom Photo

We would like to welcome you to the crawler room! In this room, we encourage the development of large motor skills such as crawling, pulling up and walking. Small motor skills are developed through various activities such as using a spoon, paintbrush, and sorting toys. Social skills are developed during group snack time, lunch, art, and reading time. Children experience a wide variety of options while using the multipurpose room and during outside time. In the crawler room, we encourage the use of a sipper cup and work on introducing new table foods.

Although we do have a daily schedule, times may vary due to the child's individual schedule, inclement weather, etc. We are always available for any questions or concerns that you may have. Please feel free to give us a call during the day to check in during this transition. We look forward to caring for your child!

Teachers

Natalie
Hello, I am one of the lead teachers in the Crawler classroom. I have been working at Learning Edge since 2015. I have a passion for teaching children. I enjoy watching them learn and grow. I will be further pursuing my education in Elementary Education at Alverno College. In my free time, I enjoy going to sporting events, trying new places to eat, camping, and playing tennis. I look forward to meeting all the new children and families that enter my classroom!

Terri
Hello, I am one of the lead teachers in the Crawler room. In 2015 I received my infant/toddler credential and have been working in childcare since 2010. In my free time, my family and I like to go to the beach, take walks, and go to festivals. I am very excited to get to meet all the new Learning Edge families!

Cognitive & Sensory

Through the use of finger plays and songs we enhance each child's motor skills as well as cognitive skills. They learn simple things like waving, clapping, and peek-a-boo. By doing art projects with the children we enhance sensory skills through finger painting, making foot and handprints, and by playing with different textures (for example: cool whip, water and soap, and pudding).
